A ladyboy is the name given to a person who has male genitalia but lives outwardly as a woman. However, a ladyboy may also live as a woman without male geniatalia if she has had sex reassignment surgery, commonly called a sex change operation. A ladyboy is a transsexual or transgender. This is different to a transvestite which is a man who dresses as a woman on some occasions.
